Features discussion - Import and export leads templates

Postby dspaan » Fri Jun 17, 2011 12:39 am

So, i have spent some time thinking about these features over the last few months and the goal of this topic is to discuss these features and hopefully let them end up in the Projects forum as bounties so we can fund the development together.

I have been working with outbound mainly so once i get some more inbound experience you can bet i will make a topic about that too  .

In my opinion right now the most important missing features for Outbound VICIdial are:

1.Reliably manage disconnected numbers
2.Status code for maximum attempts
3.Manager friendly Reports
4.(Realtime) Sales report
5.Import and export leads templates<--this topic

Since it would become a mess to discuss all of these subject in one thread i made a thread for each of them. I know that for some of these subjects there have been discussions about them in the past. I will try to reference these older threads as far as i can.

Import and export leads templates

One of the things that could be improved to prevent major repetitive and fault sensitive tasks is a feature to create and save templates for importing and exporting leads. Everyone who has worked with SugarCRM or a similar application knows what i mean. Once you have mapped all the fields of your source lead file with standard and custom VICIdial fields you should be able to save this mapping and use it the next time when importing the leads for the same project.

I made issue about it in Mantis: http://www.vicidial.org/VICIDIALmantis/view.php?id=484

The same is needed for exporting leads. The template would save the dial statuses, campaign(s) and other selections into a quickly accessible template for frequent exporting.

Who else thinks this is good idea?
Regards, Dennis

Great idea, but it will take a lot of time to implement. I have figure out a good way to do it, but I don't have the free time to spend writing it.
