Postby enjay » Thu Jul 20, 2006 11:03 pm

Well I cant figure out how to resolve the issue with the softphones and vicidial I get feedback/echo etc when I hookup hardphones I dont get these problems..

My project launches Monday and I want this working perfectly can someone recommend cheap hardphones which a 10base-t passthrough to connect to the computer as there are only single ethernet drops at each station.

Any more recommendations on what I can try on the system to get it working with Xlite

Passthru Ethernet kind of limits your choices and raises the price. We use many Polycom phones with ethernet passthru and they work great, a bit difficult to configure though. We have also used Grandstreams in the past that had passthru, they are a little flakey, but worked tolerably.

I recommend either getting a T1 Channelbank with regular analog phones, or a dual ATA adapter with analog phones. Those are the two cheapest per-port costs and the audio quality is very good.
