Music on hold context

Postby rmahajan.112 » Tue Sep 27, 2011 1:26 am

Dear Friends,

I have been trying from last one month to understand how could transfer a call to particular context while the music on hold is going on..

Let me describe here my exact requirement..

I have set up an inbound number on which first welcome message plays and immediately after the welcome message music on hold plays.

Now suppose the total queue timeout is 150 sec and the customer which is on call don't want to wait for such a long time so in that case if he presses zero the call must go to Voicemail where he or she can leave out his/her message..

I am able to do the same thing with 1 means by pressing one i am able to forward the call to voice-mail through WAIT TIME OPTION where we can set many more like wait time second option, wait time third option. BUT I need to get this done through ZERO not by using 1 . Please guide me where exactly i need to make changes to get this done.

The oher way i have thought that there must be a way to define a context in musiconhold.conf through which the above setup could be done. But this method is also not easy for me as i have tried a lot but all in vain...

Below is the information of vicidial asterisk.
Asterisk 1.4.27.1
CentOS release 5.6 (Final)
Vicidial/astGUIclient2.2.1
No extra software's installed

I heartily request you friends to help me to get this done..

MANY MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE,

PRINCE

1) i see you are trying to share your installation information with us, but you have left out some important details:

when you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and vicidial version with build.

this IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "from scratch" you must post your operating system and should also post the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.

Similar to This:

Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X-XXX Build XXXXXX-XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation | Intel DG35EC | Core2Quad Q6600

2) I get the impression you know something about asterisk, and are approaching the matter from that viewpoint. Forget asterisk. It is a tool to transfer voice within Vicidial, not to be dealt with directly. Read the Vicidial Manager's manual and work within Vicidial's Menuing system instead. Choosing the button to be pressed to transfer to a specific destination is handled in call menus.

3) If you have modified any configuration file manually in this attempt, put them back to original specs.
