Two vicidial servers

Postby kashutu » Thu Oct 13, 2011 5:26 pm

Hi,
I have a general question that i need some help with. I will really appreciate if someone can guide me through.

I have one vicidial server setup in Canada with SIP port changed to 8891. I have an outbound dialing account setup on it which is working fine without any issues. I have people logged onto it from different location around the world through softphone and are able to dial outbound calls without any issue.

I have one client who wants to use the dialing account from my vicidial server sitting in Canada and he is in Philipines using a vicidial server at his location using SIP port 5060. If he connects through a regular softphone on my server in Canada on port 8891, he can make calls without any issues, however he wants to use my dialing account into his vicidial so he can use his asterisk to make calls. How can i achive this senario without loosing any voice quality?
Remeber my SIP port is 8891 and his is 5060.

Any help from exoerts is very much appreciated.

Thanks

Let me rephrase my question in a simple words:

I want to use my asterisk server as a VOIP provider. How can i reach my goal considering that my client wants to use his Vicidial server as a Predictive Dialer connecting to my server. I am using

Goautodial CE 2.0
VERSION: 2.4-309a
BUILD: 110430-1642

Thanks for all your help

You might want to look at SIP/IAX2 Trunking ...
ViciBox v.7.0.3-160505
Asterisk 11.22.0-vici
Vicidial: VERSION: 2.12-563a BUILD: 160801-2119
Servers: Stand alone server (Database, Web, Telephony)
No Additional Softwares, No Third Party Softwares

heres the scenario you would want

Vicidal server <---> IAX2 trunk <---> Asterisk Server <---> SIP <---> Voip provider

1. Setup an iax2 trunk from your vicidial to your asterisk server, it will involve you logging in to your asterisk server and creating an iax2 cretentials for your vicidial server, then on your vicidial server you should make an iax2 link to your asterisk server

2. On your asterisk server create a dial prefix that will pass the call coming from your vicidial server to your voip provider

A key advantage of using iax2 trunking is it is NAT friendly, also it is recommended to connect two asterisk boxes using iax2 rather than sip protocol

for more information on asterisk trunking and how its setup download this pdf

i suggest you do a reading on it, it covers all basic stuff about asterisk and many more

That will also help you understand asterisk more, since we are using asterisk as a main component in sending calls in and out it is vital that you would learn how asterisk works, vicidial on the other hand is a group of scripts which interact with asterisk to make it function to the requirements of a call center dialer system, learning asterisk is half the battle, good luck my friend
