How to connect remote agent

Postby webgurru » Fri Jul 17, 2009 4:28 am

Hi,

I am connected to my VICIDIALNOW server through VPN. My VPN assigned IP is the same as of VICIDIALNOW. I can browse VICIDIALNOW admin and agent pages in browser. I followed the steps given in manger manual to create a remote agent with User ID Start: 111. I also created a user 111 with level 4 in Users area. In remote user External Extension I put my mobile number which I can dial using VICIDIALNOW. I want to know how to connect this user? What page should I use to login this agent to campaign and start dialing?

Best regards,
webgurru

activating a remote agent is done two ways, both are described in the manager's manual (which is required reading).

the easiest way is to log in as an administrator and change their status to "active".

of course you could also check out all the php files in the directories, you may find a few surprises (like astguiclient) in addition to the remote agent interface. If you bump into vicidial/vdremote.php you may find it interesting ... but seriously, the rest of those files can make you REALLY want to read the entire Manager's Manual.

Hi William,

I did my reading of manager manuals. I achieved this way (I don't is this a correct way or not). As I told I am connected through VPN. In phone section I created a new external phone with Dial Plan Number: as my mobile number (can be used landline). Then I used agent GUI to login using this new external phone. Soon I loged in it rings my mobile and connect me to the campaign. Then from there onward I can dial just like to be a local agent.

Best regards,

that would not be a "remote agent". Remote agents do not have computers.

If you have a computer, you are just an agent and do not need the remote agent setup or interface.

just use the agent login.

We rather use IAX than SIP to connect from outside. So simply set up an IAX phone extension. From outside use port 4569 to connect. Your hostname/IP will therefore be something like this: 196.21.237.74:4569

Hope this helps.

First I must setup port forwarding in router , port 4569 to my LAN IP address of goautodial server, because server has lan ip 192.168.1.2.
After that I have to register softphone where I will put as ip address my public ip and everything else is the same, am I right?

But how can I register remote SIP extension on free version of X lite?
I need X-lite because I must recording calls and with free version of Zoiper I can not recording calls, also free version of X-lite does not support IAX protocol and I can not register remote IAX extension on X-lite!

I also port forwarded SIP 5060 on my router like a port 4569 IAX, and succesfully registered remote IAX extension on Zoiper but not on X -lite??

What do you mean you cannot record calls through Zoiper? Don't your external agents log into the agent system to make/receive calls?
