Delay starting of voice Recording on AllForce Recording

Postby voipart » Thu Feb 09, 2012 12:42 pm

VERSION: 2.4-354a
BUILD: 120104-2024
Asterisk 1.2.30.2,
Instalation : DUAL SERVER (Asterisk , WEB&Database)
Server : Quadcore Xion , 16GB RAM, GIGA Ethernet
Agents : <100 (50 active agents)
Trunk SIP ( From Local Trunk Gateway giving PRI to SIP calls)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
All Voice Recording happens but first few seconds of voice is missing in recording, we found later as agent alert is on till the time alert is not accepted the call will not start recording, As the agents need to work on other windows alert is important. and when call comes agent as usual start talking and most of the calls the greeting is missing which is against Quality monitoring,
So is there a way the call start recording even before alert is accepted

Thanks in Advance

1) please post your installation method

2) show cli from a test instance (controlled environment, not 3000 lines of code from a running system, just a sample of this situation)

3) Are you at the latest SVN version?

It is Dual Server Instillation, Server A -Asterisk Server B- DB and Web
Yes it is updated with latest SVN

We have tested the Call in 2 installations, where in when after the call is picked up the agent count 1 - 20 and on 10the count he press Okay on the Alert and when we listen the recording we get the voice for count from 11-20 only

1) please post your installation method
"dual server" is not the method.

By method I mean: Vicibox? Goautodial? Scratch Install?

Here's what I usually say if that clears it up:

when you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and vicidial version with build.

this IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "from scratch" you must post your operating system and should also post the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.

Similar to This:

Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X-XXX Build XXXXXX-XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation | Intel DG35EC | Core2Quad Q6600

We're making progress.

1) Please, for all of you who have a "Scratch" install: Post a link to the instructions you used for your installation. Often these installs can have similar problems, and obviously this will be much easier to track if everyone posts their installation instructions so those with the same installs can compare notes.

2) You should TEST with a standard Vicibox.com .iso install and/or a GoAutoDial.com .iso install (both sites have their own install instructions, Vicibox has a PDF and GoAutoDial has a Wiki). If the problem persists with Vicibox when the "Update OS" and "Latest SVN" methods are used (resulting in the Latest SVN code), then this is something worth a bug report on the Issue Tracker (VICIDIAL Issue Tracker link at the top of this page). If this issue does not persist when installing with a Vicibox .iso ... then you'll have to find the difference between that install method and YOUR install method (or just use Vicibox like the rest of us? 8-) ).

3) Happy Hunting 8-)

William
You mean to say the Recording starting after Alert acceptance is not natural?
that is in actual When Alert is On in Agent screen and the Alert popu on an incoming call and even the agent dont press OK on alert still he can talk and the voice should be recorded?

Today Again I have installed an all NEW system with GoAutodial to check the force recording with Alert on
and found the same thing.. that the call start recording only after accepting the alert (that is after pressing OK on Alert only the call start recording

It give way to agents to avoid call recording as they can choose not to Click on Alert for as much time they want

Any one got a work around or a sloution ???

g'day ladies & gents, I am noticing this as well. When the pop-up alerts the agent, recording does not start until after the agent clicks 'ok'. I am thinking this has something todo with the PHP coding and how the arguments are called on the 'stack' - recording hits after the initial pop-up is finished running its course (when agent acknowledges by clicking ok). I quite might be wrong yet when testing this extensively we have and noticed the only time it records straight is no delay time and no pop-up alerts enabled on the user. I am running on the 1933 sub and will be updating to the 1935 sometime this week:
Vicibox 4.0.2 from ISO standard | VERSION: 2.6-394a BUILD: 130130-1207 | Asterisk 1.4.44-vici | 1 Db 1 Web 8 Telephony Servers | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software

Sounds like you have confirmed a Bug. you should post it to the Vicidial Issue tracker and post a link back to here. If you choose to delve into the javascript/ajax code to modify it so the popup does not block the recording request, place a DIFF against the version you are using into that same tracker and it can actually get fixed :) (or you can pay someone to fix it if you need it sooner than you think it will get fixed in the normal channels, of course).

Hello,

Just wanted to update this, since I am having the same issue with 2 different Goautodial servers (VERSION:2.2.1 / 2.9rc1 )
Both were installed according to the goautodial wiki.
Both are Poweredge systems (R520 and R220, 32GB RAM and 8GB RAM) with SIP trunks and no other hardware

I can look into the code, but I dont know whether this was already addressed in a newer version of Vicidial.
