ERROR! ERROR! Something has gone horribly wrong!

Postby noworldorder » Wed Apr 25, 2012 3:14 am

Hi! Trying to install the latest Vicibox and everything was going fine (thanfully the resositories are running now thanks to rrb555 ) but right at the end when I was ready to celebrate a successful install I get this:

Configuring Telephony pre-requisites
/usr/local/bin/vicibox-install: line 455: cd: use/astguiclient/agc_2.2.0: no such file or directory
Can't open perl script "install.pl": no such file or directory
ERROR! ERROR! Something has gone horribly wrong! Processing stopped!

Failure Area: could not run Vicidial installer

So what is up with this? :?

Is that an exact copy/paste? because "cd: use/astguiclient/agc_2.2.0: no such file or directory" looks weird, it should be usr instead of use.
If so, look in the file /usr/local/bin/vicibox-install line 455 and tell me what it says, you can use this command:
head -455 /usr/local/bin/vicibox-install | tail -1

maybe /var/log/vicibox.log got some more info about this to.

when you say latest, do you mean 4.0-beta or latest stable 3.1.15

Thank you very much for the reply

That was a typo

If so, look in the file /usr/local/bin/vicibox-install line 455 and tell me what it says, you can use this command:
head -455 /usr/local/bin/vicibox-install | tail -1

vicibox:~ # head -455 /usr/local/bin/vicibox-install | tail -1
cd /usr/src/astguiclient/agc_2.2.0

when you say latest, do you mean 4.0-beta or latest stable 3.1.15

3.1.15

maybe /var/log/vicibox.log got some more info about this to.

To do so, start the server, then issue the following commands:

/usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root password 'new-password'
/usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root -h 127.0.0.2 password 'new-password'

Alternatively you can run:
/usr/bin/mysql_secure_installation

which will also give you the option of removing the test
databases and anonymous user created by default. This is
strongly recommended for production servers.

See the manual for more instructions.

hmmm... and noworldorder did not post back. I am having EXACTLY the same problem. I was trying Vicibox Redux Preload 3.1.15 (32bit). It does not matter whether I try to install database server or web server or telephony server I face the same problem. I was trying to install multiserver system. There is no 'vicibox-db' script in 64 version of vicibox redux preload 3.1.15 as stated in the manual.

There was a bug in that build that I can no longer fix due to OpenSuSE v.11.3 going End of Life.

The fix is, prior to running 'vicibox-install' or 'vicibox-express', is the following:

1) cd /usr/src/astguiclient
2) tar -xzf vicidial-2.2.1.tar.gz

Then you can proceed to run vicibox-install or vicibox-express.

Ok that fix works ... but then ...during webserver installation
Code: Select all
sed: can't read default-server.conf: No such file or directory

and when the installation finished...
Code: Select all
sed: can't read zoiperweb.php: No such file or directory

Is it ok to ignore those errors ? Is zoiper softphone embedded with this version?

would it not have made sense to have that bug fix posted on the vicibox download site? don't get me wrong.. I am grateful for everyone's hard work (and I am too stupid to contribute) but it seems like common sense to me.
