Echo

Postby B.lee2 » Thu Jun 14, 2012 12:06 pm

Im experiencing problems with outbound echo. Sometime, it is really bad.

I'm not too sure where to start, I'm pretty sure the issue is local, because when I call from one computer to another using SIP phones by passing through the server,
I myself don't hear the echo (except when I make a call within my own LAN), it's other people that hear it.

Echo is caused by the end points and is caused by the far end. For instance if the customer is hearing themselves echoed back to them, the problem is with your agent. Most likely the agent has their headset volume and mic sensitivity way too high. At which point the mic in their headset is picking up the sound from the speaker in the headset. Cheap headsets echo worse than more expensive ones as they lack sound isolation around the speaker.
