Caller ID name in comments field

Postby joako » Wed Feb 01, 2012 6:50 pm

Previously inbound calls would show the agent the callerid name in the comments field. Currently the comments field is showing blank. If I download the list the comments field is shown and appears to contain the correct caller id name.

How can I restore the function and show the agent's the caller's callerid name?

OS Version: CentOS release 5.4 (Final)
Kernel: vici 2.6.18-164.el5.vnow
Asterisk: 1.2.30.2 built by root @ vnowinc on a i686 running Linux on 2009-07-10
Vici/Admin: VERSION: 2.0.5-174 BUILD: 90522-0506
AGC/Agent: VICIDIAL web-client version: 2.0.5-206 BUILD: 90525-1014
Server: HP Proliant DL360 G3: Dual Xeon 2.80Ghz 72GB RAID1 (MP3 on NFS), 4GB RAM. Load, not too sure about during use but I can reproduce the issue when there are no other agents or calls in the system (except for the test agent/calls, of course.)
Connectivity: SIP trunk from real carrier to Asterisk 1.4.41.2 PBX (separate physical machine, on the same local LAN), ViCi is communicating via SIP with Asterisk
Agents: Mozilla Firefox 3.6.x on Windows XP with a mix of Xlite and Polycom phones

The answer to this is no. I cleaned up the database removing many thousands of old call records and suddenly the feature is working again. Anyways soon the 2.0.5 will be upgraded to 2.2.1.... the upgrade process is very simple, I was too afraid of it!

2.2.1? What's wrong with 2.4? You prejudiced against 2.4? Bummer.

Look at Vicibox.com and GoAutodial.com, both are valid installers. GoAutoDial is generally at least 1/4 version behind. GoAutoDial has a prettier agent screen. But GoAutoDial's prettier agent screen is not compatible with the "latest" version of Vicidial and The Vicidial Group does not support it. Also, GoAutoDial has made some modifications to the Manager screens which are in some cases annoying (select all doesn't work ... links are hidden by the color scheme, LOGO takes up 2.5" vertical space ...). Vicibox is OpenSuSE, pure "stock" Vicidial, and supported by The Vicidial Group. It also has more "followers" (ie: Available technicians qualified to work on it). PoundTeam, of course, supports both. :)

I have downloaded Vicibox 3.1.15 which in the admin section reports "VERSION: 2.2.1-237"

If you request "SVN" installation, it will install 2.4. If you update the OS during installation AND request SVN, it will install 2.6!

Yes, I've not elected to update from SVN. I have an application that was developed with the 2.2.1 agent interface.

Both GoAutoDial and Vicibox are capable of installing to 2.2.1. In fact, both can be installed and then upgraded to the latest 2.2.1 via SVN to get the latest code fixes!
