Postby punjab » Sun Jul 22, 2012 3:05 am

Hello there.
We are using Cepstral voices as TTS, working ok.
Can you tell me, which voice is compatible with goautodial/vicidial except cepstral. We are not satisfy with cepstral voice feature.
I need a natural type voice with goautodial .
Please help me .

1) GoAutoDial is not an application, it's an installer. The "application" that the "voice" would be working with is Asterisk (and arguably Vicidial, which controls Asterisk).

2) Cepstral voices have improved, but in so doing they have upgraded their system requirements to Asterisk 1.6 or above. Vicidial works only with Asterisk 1.4 or 1.2. Since "GoAutoDial" is just the installer for Vicidial, you are now presented with a problem. The better voices work only in a more recent version of Asterisk than Vicidial works with.

3) Our solution to this is to set up an Asterisk 1.6 or 1.8 server to "serve" TTS to Vicidial externally. This is a bit of a complex setup, involving PIAF Purple and a mysql table to pass the text one way and the DTMF reponse back, and is installed in several locations and working fairly well. So far the only bumps are that the Asterisk will segfault every couple of months and need to be restarted (resolved if you can restart that server nightly, of course).

4) when you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and vicidial version with build.

this IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "from scratch" you must post your operating system and should also post the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system. If your installation is "Hosted" list the site name of the host.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.
