backup the content of the vicidial

How can I back up the content of the vicidial like list(including the disposition of the agents within a list), call times , user, phone and everything on my vicidial?
or lets just say I want to back up the whole data and settings on my vicidial

I am guessing you have not looked in the /usr/share/astguiclient for a file that may have the word "backup" in it?

try this:

/usr/share/astguiclient/ADMIN_backup.pl --without-web --without-sounds

then try this:

ls /var/log/astguiclient/archive -l

The scripts in this folder are very useful. Each has documentation in it (often executing with "--help" will spill the command line options).

copy it to the other server. scp is very useful for this.

scp FILENAME xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:/root/FILENAME

replace "filename" with the actual filename, of course. replace xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx with the ip of the receiving server.

decompress/unpack it with tar

-xvzf FILENAME

find the asterisk sql file which will need to be decompressed again (i forget if it is another tar -xvzf or if it is gunzip, though)

after you have the asterisk sql file decompressed ...

mysql -p -e "drop database asterisk"
mysql -p -e "create database asterisk"
