Peer / Dial out via existing Asterisk server.

Postby chrisdbarnett » Thu Aug 09, 2012 9:20 am

Hello,

I have just installed "GoAutoDial" on a server.

However, we already have an existing asterisk server (Elastix) which has a GSM box attached to it.

We want the autodialler in GoAutoDial to peer with our exisiting Asterisk server and dial out via the GSM box.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I would need a very simple dialplan (I hope) - as it would only be used for UK phone numbers...so I want it to simply route to the existing asterisk server if the number begins with "0"

Thanks!

in your elastix server, set up your vicidial server as an "extension" or "phone".

use those credentials to create a "carrier" (admin->carriers) in Vicidial.

in the dialplan entry of the vicidial carrier, use a pattern such as this: "_90XXXXXXXXXX" and put "9" in the dial prefix of the campaign.

If this doesn't do it for you ... I can create a more detailed dialplan (but I'm a bit busy right now ... so ask again if you don't get it from this).
_____________

when you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and vicidial version with build.

this IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "from scratch" you must post your operating system and should also post the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system. If your installation is "Hosted" list the site name of the host.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.

Similar to This:

Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X-XXX Build XXXXXX-XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation | Intel DG35EC | Core2Quad Q6600

Hello William and thanks for putting some time in to help me out.

Autodialler:
GoAutoDial CE 2.1 | VICI DIal Build: 2.4-309a | Asterisk 1.4.39.1 | No Dogium/Sngoma Hardware

Existing Asterisk/Elastix box I wish to route the calls through:
Elastix 2.0.0-63 | FreePBX 2.7.0 | Asterisk 2.0.0-63 | Wildcard TDM400P REV E/F Board

The 2 servers are physical and are on the same subnet in the same office.

I'm afraid I'll need a little help setting up the vicidial as a phone in Elastix! Do you have any posts on this forum or resources you can point me towards?

Hello,

I've setup the extension on the Asterisk server.

And it can be dialled via the carrier dial plan.

However, the call seems to get caught up in an inbound route and ends up in the main switchboard queue on that server rather than dialling out. Any ideas?

Sorted!

But not using an extension.

I created a trunk called autodial1 and simply put this in it:

context=from-internal
host=x.x.x.x or hostname
type=friend
insecure=port,invite

Then I just removed the username + password entries from the standard goautodial carrier template.

Now, when I dial an appropriate number from the goautodial system, it does appear to dial out via the asterisk system.

excellent postback. :)

now for the bad news: when you fire up vicidial and war-dial, you will melt down your freepbx system. the overhead inherent in freepbx explodes the cpu when vicidial kicks in full bore.

of course, if you keep it light, you're all good :)

(For example I've had a single Core2Quad Vicidial server running Gentoo up to 400 channels ... and the average 8 processor Xeon running FreePBX cannot handle even half of that ... certainly not in 30 seconds which is how long it took the Gentoo box to hit full speed from startup)
