upgrade goautodial 2.0 to 2.1

Hello,
I would like to upgrade my version of a goautodial 2.0 to 2.1 by following the steps in this link

I wonder if I would not have a problem with my setup.

Do a full backup before you proceed.

Good idea to simulate your situation in a Virtual machine (VMware ... vSphere ...) and try it out. Also look at Vicibox.com's .iso as it will take you to the latest 2.6 version of Vicidial which has more bells and whistles.

Remember that your DB is separate from your "install" and can be backed up, ported to another machine, and upgraded taking all your data with it. Allowing you to use your old data in a brand new machine WITHOUT disabling or "risking" the original machine at all. Then when you get the new machine online with the latest version working perfectly ... you can dismantle the old one and use it for a nice coffee holder.

one last question is it possible to upgrade only my version of VICIDIAL and database corresponding in my goautodial 2.0

If you update your version of vicidial and the database ... you are done. I'm not sure what else you would upgrade (unless you refer to upgrading goautodial to 2.1 ... which is completely unnecessary). Vicidial is OS independent. You do not need to upgrade CentOS, OpenSuSE, apache, asterisk, etc to upgrade your Vicidial installation. Using the SVN instructions on the wiki to upgrade your vicidial installation does not require any other changes to your system. But it will break your pretty GoAutoDial agent interface (while installing the standard Vicidial interface which is maintained by The Vicidial Group, with all the latest toys in it).
