Postby eze-voip » Thu Mar 01, 2012 12:29 pm

hello to all, i need some help over here!
I have some customers with 2 or more phones, how can I configure the dialer that if the first number is busy or not answering automatically calls the second one and so.
is this possible?

enable Auto Alt-Number Dialing under campaign detail.

Auto Alt-Number Dialing - This setting is used to automatically dial alternate number fields while dialing in the RATIO and ADAPT dial methods when there is no contact at the main phone number for a lead, the NA, B, DC and N statuses. This setting is not used by the MANUAL dial method. EXTENDED alternate numbers are numbers loaded into the system outside of the standard lead information screen. Using EXTENDED you can have hundreds of phone numbers for a single customer record. Using MULTI_LEAD allows you to use a separate lead for each number on a customer account that all share a common vendor_lead_code, and the type of phone number for each is defined with a label in the Owner field. This option will disable some options on the Modify Campaign screen and show a link to the Multi-Alt Settings page which allows you to set which phone number types, defined by the label of each lead, will be dialed and in what order. This will create a special lead filter and will alter the Rank field of all of the leads inside the lists set to this campaign in order to call them in the order you have specified.

I loaded some numbers into the dialer with extended numbers (meaning I went to the CLI and ran the leadloder with a sample file that had a whole bunch of additional numbers per lead). Now..., the million dollar question...., if I dial one of those alrternate numbers and the gentleman (or lady) asks me to not call that number again, is there something I can do to mark THAT number as DNS, but keep the rest 'alive' or will the whole lead be marked as DNC for as many numbers that are associated to it?

If I do alternate dialing in a Multi Lead (meaning several different leads with same vendor code and appropiate ranks for each), will I be able to achieve my goal?

I'd like to stick to the first option. To my taste it is a bit cleaner, but it is dirtier to handle 'subdispositions' per number......

Thanks!

you're hijacking a post that is over 6 months old and asking a different question not related to a "2 stage dialer". (and don't say your post is related to "alt number dialing" because it isn't ... yours is multi-lead which is not alt-number).

But you did post your specs, which is good. LOL 8-)

Multi-lead should not mark all leads DNC, but will mark all leads "dialed" upon contact with another linked lead.

the goal is to contact a human for each lead, so when you dispo one of them with a status that is "human answered" or "customer contact" (i forget which), vicidial is supposed to mark all the other linked leads "dialed" and remove them from the hopper. it should not make any other changes.

but honestly, i've never tested this. and before you take my word for it you should DEFINITELY test it. even if I'm right, there could always be a bug! always test.

Yeh..., I kinda' hijacked an old post, but it is decently recent, I was going to post to one that was like a year old..!

Anyway..., thanks for the info William. I will test it out. The whole point was to be able to 'slash out' numbers of relatives to the contact that asked to be added to the DNC without slashing all relating contacts at once. I'll test and see how that goes....

i gathered as much and expected that was the point. it *should* work as you like, but the consequences of failure dictate that you must test it regardless of "should".
