GoAutodial Upgrade

Postby ctc_olsen » Fri Dec 28, 2012 3:45 pm

Happy Holidays to all! I searched the thread and I can't find anything related to my concern. We are looking to upgrade our current vicidial server, I searched for the latest version at goautodial.org, it says the latest is version 2.1?

This is our current version.

VERSION: 2.2.1-237
BUILD: 100510-2015

Can anyone point me to the right direction on what the latest version is, where to upgrade it and is there a quick guide in doing this? Thank you very much!

Bump. Anyone please? I think we are using GoAutoDial now. How and where do I check the version of it? I think we are using GoautoDial CE but not sure if it's 2.1 or 2.0.

http://goautodial.org/projects/goautodi ... autodial21

if want to upgrade to latest vicidial version (not goautodial) below is the link

Hi Striker. Thanks for the reply. We have cloned the the box itself already. I guess we are safe on back up issues. I only have one question for now. How do I know or check if I have GoAutoDial CE 2.0 or 2.1?

Thanks striker. I guess that would make us CE 2.0 since I get this at GUI.

VERSION: 2.2.1-237
BUILD: 100510-2015

Will try the upgrade. Thank you.

Of course, if you have not Customized your scripts at all, you can back up the DB and install Vicibox. Then restore your DB and upgrade just the DB to match your SVN version ... and now you'll have the latest-greatest Vicidial version (with Quality Control and Email Queuing).

also of note: You do not ever need to actually upgrade your "GoAutoDial" or your "Vicibox" versions. The latest version of Vicidial can be upgraded inside any prior install. Once Vicidial is running ... you need only use the SVN upgrade instructions for Vicidial and the Vicidial will upgrade without modifying Goautodial or vicibox at all. No need to. Since goautodial and vicibox are merely installers anyway, the entire goal is to get Vicidial running and/or upgraded. Once it is installed, upgrading Vicidial does not require modifications to the OS. (but always say "YES" to the question of loading the "sample .conf files" during an upgrade to get the latest toys working in Vicidial!).

Thank you very much William and Striker! The upgrade went smooth, and I wasn't expecting that. I followed the steps at

http://goautodial.org/projects/goautodi ... autodial21 - Upgrade Notes from Goautodial 2.0 to Goautodial 2.1

I did not upgrade our database anymore. The process only took around 10 minutes!

Before:
VERSION: 2.2.1-237
BUILD: 100510-2015

After:
VERSION: 2.4-309a
BUILD: 110430-1642
© 2011 ViciDial Group

I edited my post. I just realized that version 2.4 is the latest stable version and that 2.6 is technically the latest but still not declared as stable. However, when I upgraded my database, I got this error.

Code: Select all
[root@go ~]# mysql -f -u #### -p --database=asterisk < /usr/local/src/astguiclient-2.4-build-110430-1642/extras/upgrade_2.4.sql
Enter password:
ERROR 1062 (23000) at line 60: Duplicate entry 'CALLNOTES' for key 1
ERROR 1044 (42000) at line 280: Access denied for user '####'@'localhost' to database 'asterisk'
ERROR 1044 (42000) at line 281: Access denied for user '####'@'localhost' to database 'asterisk'
ERROR 1091 (42000) at line 587: Can't DROP 'uniqueid'; check that column/key exists
You have new mail in /var/spool/mail/root
[root@go ~]#

Instead of root, I used a user account with admin access. I still have to test outbound calling but GUI looks good. Can I simply assume that the upgrade went well?

If no, is it safe to do the database upgrade again and this time, use "root"? This quite scares me before trying anything. Quoting William's posts from another thread.

Code: Select all
there could have been some residual effect (ie: damage already done)

Anyone please? On the database upgrade from ce2.0 to ce 2.1 i got this error.

Code: Select all
ERROR 1044 (42000) at line 280: Access denied for user '####'@'localhost' to database 'asterisk'

Can I assume that this is normal and everything went well?

No, the script failed.

grant privileges to the asterisk database to user #### or just run it as root

You can check /etc/goautodial-release for the GoAutoDial version.

[xxxx@go archive]# cat /etc/goautodial-release
cat: /etc/goautodial-release: No such file or directory

Am I missing something? We will be testing this in production tomorrow. God help me! :)

If you upgraded from 2.0, the file should be:

/etc/vicidialnow-release
