Avaya CMS

Postby GaD » Mon Jan 07, 2013 10:45 pm

Hi guys!

Has anyone been asked to integrate reporting from Vici (or any asterisk box) to an Avaya CMS? I have read a bit that Avaya uses Informix and I can use an ODBC driver to connect to it. Has anyone looked into such an implementation? My friend that wants to get this done wants to be able to see the staffing of his call center in the CMS. I suggested not to use Avaya and let me handle both inbound and outbound queues in Asterisk (Vici) and Queuemetrics, but...., he wanted to go the other way...

Any ideas...?

Thanks!

I do have one client who accomplished this ... but he is a fairly high-level technician and knows avaya inside and out. I am going to bet that without some serious experience it will be a fairly difficult task. However: It is just data. And the movement of the data between the two systems can be accomplished once you have the method of transport working. Just be sure you have someone who knows the avaya cms data structure quite well (hopefully you already know the Vicidial structure ...).

Jeje..., yes, it would be quite complicates I pressume. I have the least of experience using the CMS and I know it would be pretty hard to get someone's guidance on this..., but I just HAD to ask... ;). I eventually told my boss that it would be pretty hard to get this one going....

Maybe someday I will be knowledgeable of both systems and can post my results for all to see.... In the meantime..., you might want to wait seated.. :)

Thanks William!

So your difficulty is in getting ahold of a technician who knows the data structure of avaya ... then an ODBC connection and "you're on". :)
