User Recording Override

Postby spinto » Thu Feb 28, 2013 1:15 pm

A client has the settings for the Ingroup recording to "ONDEMAND". There was a specific user where they wanted to record all inbound calls. They set the user recording override to "ALLFORCE". After testing it seems that the feature doesn't work. After researching agi-VDAD_ALL_inbound.agi it turns out it only uses the user recording override settings for remote agents. Was/Is there an intention to have the user recording override work for all agents on inbound calls instead of just remote agents? Would this be considered a bug or a feature request?

So ... you're saying that even though this user is set to allforce, this user's calls are not recorded? I'd call that a bug myself. The phrase "it seems that the feature doesn't work" is an implication. I much prefer direct statements. :)

I thought maybe I was missing something so I didn't know for sure it was not working. Also, I'm not sure if it's a bug since there's no code addressing the user recording override for local agents. There's only code for remote agents. Bottom line should I put this in bug tracker or would this be considered a feature request?

If you have tested it and it failed, upgrade to the latest version (if you don't have it) and test it again. If it still fails, post it on the Issue Tracker. If you Need it to be fixed, you can offer to sponsor it or pay someone to fix it.

But do check the manager's manual for proper use of the feature to be sure you didn't overlook something. Although it does not seem to be a particularly complex feature. Be sure you have tested it in a controlled circumstance, preferably with all possible call paths (inbound, outbound, manual, autodial ....).

@spinto have you had any progress on this? I have the same issue. On the user level I have ALLFORCE set. This works great for outbound calls but does not override the global inbound settings of ONDEMAND and I cant force a recording for inbound calls on a user level as expected.
