Sorry to be unassistive. LOL I just looked up a likely setting. We've never looked into the color console issue. I was hoping it would help (because when we do fire up 1.8, we'll want those color hints, too. I like 'm).

That is very strange. I installed that exact same version on three different systems and they all had color in the CLI.

that would tend to indicate that the ssh client in use is the likely culprit ...

and this same putty gives you color on other implementations?

and you are sure you did not accidentally use any other settings in this session for putty?

i suspect a compile difference of some sort. a system preference during compile perhaps. hm.

it depends how you start astersk.. try to stop asterisk, then start it manually using asterisk -cvvvg (leave out the -r reconnect flag out) and if you see colors you know your startup script is the issue

Thanks bobby! ;) I love posts like that. Very useful. Just modified Gnudial to have color asterisk cli without having to do the research. Thanks for the "time".

Interesting note: I'm told that the "c" option (which provides console) breaks the "g" option in ubuntu. Even though we are using a vici-patched Asterisk. However, omitting the "c" option still provides a console. So we are testing with omitting the "c" option and thus having color and console. So far, this has not proven to be a problem. Odd that the same patched asterisk will react differently on Ubuntu than OpenSuSE for color vs console.

hi, yes indeed the asterisk -cvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvg- gives color to console but break eventually when it being used on prodcution, next is remove teh c option gives color and no option to do dialplan reload and sip show peers.

try

(AMD(2000,2000,1000,5000,120,50,4,256))

looks like the config exmaples also use |.. are you using the vicidial asterisk source or the original ast1.8 version.. the vicidial version has custom chnages made to work with vicidial.

That post says the same thing.. Replace | with , .. William can you have matt update the 1.8 asterisk config and have all pipes replaced with commas to prevent future confusion ?

Make the changes yourself. Create a DIFF of those changes against the latest SVN. Post it to the Vicidial Issue Tracker (the final and the DIFF) and a link in this post. That, sir, is "how you do it" (make it very simple for Matt and it has the best chance of getting included ...).

[Mar 17 22:02:43] WARNING[597]: pbx.c:1442 pbx_exec: The application delimiter is now the comma, not the pipe.  Did you forget to convert your dialplan?  (Dial(IAX2/cc306|60|))

indicates that you did not have the Asterisk version number set correctly the last time the configuration files were rebuilt and probably still do not. Go into Admin -> Servers and make sure the Asterisk version is set correctly, and then set Rebuild Conf files to Y.

What is happening is that between Asterisk 1.4 and 1.8 the depreciated the | character as a delimiter. As such it is treating IAX2/cc306|60| as the name of the phone instead of IAX2/cc306 as the name of the phone and 60 as the number of seconds to ring it for.

The code that generates the dialplan for the phone entries should be using commas if you are using 1.8.19 as the Asterisk version. Please try changing the rebuild dialplan to Y on that Server page, Submit, then go and look at the extentions-vicidial.conf file to see if it is using commas.

@ mflorell

seems the SIP are ok :

Code: Select all
exten => 100,1,Dial(SIP/cc100,60,)
exten => 100,2,Goto(default,85026666666666100,1)
exten => 100,3,Hangup()
exten => 101,1,Dial(SIP/cc101,60,)
exten => 101,2,Goto(default,85026666666666101,1)
exten => 101,3,Hangup()
exten => 102,1,Dial(SIP/cc102,60,)
exten => 102,2,Goto(default,85026666666666102,1)
exten => 102,3,Hangup()
exten => 103,1,Dial(SIP/cc103,60,)
exten => 103,2,Goto(default,85026666666666103,1)

but IAX seems not:

Code: Select all
; Phones direct dial extensions:
exten => 300,1,Dial(IAX2/cc300|60|)
exten => 300,2,Goto(default,85026666666666300,1)
exten => 300,3,Hangup()
exten => 301,1,Dial(IAX2/cc301|60|)
exten => 301,2,Goto(default,85026666666666301,1)
exten => 301,3,Hangup()
exten => 302,1,Dial(IAX2/cc302|60|)
exten => 302,2,Goto(default,85026666666666302,1)
exten => 302,3,Hangup()
exten => 303,1,Dial(IAX2/cc303|60|)
exten => 303,2,Goto(default,85026666666666303,1)
exten => 303,3,Hangup()
exten => 304,1,Dial(IAX2/cc304|60|)
exten => 304,2,Goto(default,85026666666666304,1)
exten => 304,3,Hangup()
exten => 305,1,Dial(IAX2/cc305|60|)
exten => 305,2,Goto(default,85026666666666305,1)

Post a diff against the latest SVN if you want 'em to fix it as fast as possible. Make it simple for them, they love that. :)

Actually, the DIFF should be posted in the Vicidial Issue Tracker (link at the top of the screen) and then post a link to the Issue here for Matt to grab and go.

I can't duplicate this in our 1.8 test system or see how this would happen in the code. What is the admin.php version and build you are using?

I tested on a brand new install and I was able to find the problem. It's been fixed in svn/trunk. Thanks!

Yes, that is what he is saying. If you upgrade to the latest SVN revision right now the correction will be included in your upgrade.

Hi guys,

Just wanted to share my experience fresh installing the newest SVN and Asterisk 1.8 on CentOS 6.4 x86_64. It works great using Ray Solomon's guide (google vicidial centos install, forum's not letting me include url), but there are a couple small install bugs that might apply everywhere:

CPAN
- install Spreadsheet::Read

MYSQL
- Create user custom/custom1234 in MySQL:
grant all privileges on asterisk.* to custom@localhost identified by 'custom1234';

ASTERISK
- Ensure /etc/asterisk/modules.conf exists. If not, create a default to autoload modules (google search for example), otherwise nothing works.

astguiclient OR /etc/php.ini
- Add a default timezone setting. This is a requirement for new PHP versions
- Search "timezone" in php.ini, add: "America/Edmonton" (your favourite tz, with quotes)
- Add to dbconnect.php: date_default_timezone_set('America/Edmonton');

Conferences
- No conferences created, run this in MySQL (replace --IP ADDRESS-- with your Asterisk IP)
INSERT INTO `conferences` (`conf_exten`, `server_ip`, `extension`) VALUES
(8600001, '--IP ADDRESS--', ''),
(8600002, '--IP ADDRESS--', ''),
(8600003, '--IP ADDRESS--', ''),

Big fan of ViciDial. Mostly a lurker on here, hope this helps.

We just put up an update on the Asterisk 1.8 tarball(version 1.8.21.0-vici), this one has the new SIP error code logging and CPD functionality added to it,

Please try it out and let us know how it works for you:

Re: Asterisk 1.8

I am trying to setup a 1.8 test server. Fresh new install using vicibox 4.0.3
I download http://downloads.vicidial.com/beta-apps ... eta.tar.gz to /tmp
I ran tar -zxvf on it
I run the command: ./configure; make clean; make; make install
This is where I proceed to get a wave of continuous fatal errors:
First make isnt a command, so I use yast Software Management
Then gcc isn't working - use Software Management
Then Some other issue where I had to get libsslopen dev - use Software Management
Then I get a dahdi error, so I enable the dahdi dev - use Software Management
Now Im getting a different dahdi error (fatal error: dahdi/tonezone.h: No such file or directory)

I stopped there as I figure I am doing something wrong and that is why this process is frustrating. Any help?

If you're getting an error that 'make is not a valid command' then it means you have not installed the make program. Start there....
