No Login Screen for Vtiger at goautodial: favicon.ico

VERSION: 2.4-309a, BUILD: 110430-1642, GoAutoDial CE 2.1, 2.6.18-238.9.1.el5.goPAE (SMP), Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz, Single Machine

At the /var/log/httpd/ssl_error_log, I am finding:

[Thu Mar 28 08:27:44 2013] [error] [client 192.168.1.102] File does not exist: /var/www/html/favicon.ico

This happened suddenly ! I do not know why? And what is the solution?

Suddenly, when I am clicking on Vtigercrm to login, it takes me almost to a blank page without having the vtiger login screen ! Does not have the form to enter the login and password !

The URL is: http://192.168.10.10/vtigercrm.php

I am able to login for VICIDIAL admin and even the agents are able to login. Also, I logged in for the phpmyadmin and no problem.

I logged in for mysql using the same username and password that configured in the System Settings and it logged in. Also, i checked the user table in mysql database and I found there are two users for vtiger and both of them have the same password, one user associated with the localhost and the other with the %.

What could be the reason that the vtigercrm login screen is not appearing?

I would expect the vtigercrm application to be in a sub-folder, not at the web root. are you sure you have the location correct?

Yes, it is subfolder. But also, there is a page vtigercrm.php under /var/www/html/ and this is normal thing.

Could it be security issue?

The browser in vlan 1 and IP address 192.168.1.101 and the server in vlan 10 and the goautodial IP address is 192.168.10.10.
I am sure it is not link problem, because I am not getting any error on the page .. But instead of getting the CRM login screen which is part of the goautodial screen, I am getting only the goautodial screen without vtiger login screen (I see blank instead of having the login form).

But, it was working fine .. I do not know why it stop giving the login form for the vtiger?!

I did some tests and created some pages:

Any php page is not possible to browse it. But any html page can be browsed.

php-httpd and php-mysql and php all of them are installed, I checked this.

What could be?

are you saying "any" php page, or only those related to vtiger?

if you 'upgraded' or 'updated' your system .... it is possible that php broke and will not load. usually this is eaccelerator, but could be any php module.

php pages of goautodial are working fine, actually I am able to login as admin or agent.

Any php pages that I create it manually can not be browse, same thing for vtiger php pages. But under vtigercrm directory, I can browse html pages.

About update, really I did not do any update. But after the problem appeared, I did yum install php php-mysql php-httpd and the problem did not resolved.

you'll likely need to turn on error messages in one of the offending php pages and find out why it will not load.

as a shortcut, you could execute one of them from the command line, which usually has error notifications ON by default.

It seems we are closing to reach the problem.
I check the link you gave me garo, actually the output of the php-v was giving older version "something like 5.1 or around" and now it is giving PHP 5.3.23 (cli). Regarding to the php.ini, I checked the php.ini and I made it same as given in the link and I restarted the httpd. But now when I am browsing the vtigercrm, I am getting the below:

Not Found

The requested URL /vtigercrm/install.php was not found on this server.

About install.php, I am sure it is not must to be existed .. So, what is the problem? Why it happened this suddenly?

About the database, I checked it and I am able to login mysql -u vtiger -p and I used the same password that placed in the Settings. Also the database is vtigercrm510 (actually I logged in to mysql and i was to select it from the cli using use vtigercrm510).

I did another thing that there is a sentence: " Click here to Synchronize users with Vtiger" and I clicked here to do the synchornization and it happened for the vicidial users. Actually this is related to the integration.

Also, I discover that if I created a php page in the vtigercrm directory, I can browse it ... but when I need to browse the vtigercrm, I am facing a problem that URL is not found for install.php ! What could be?

Could be something related to the database? But why I can browse the vicidial admin?

your system apparently believes vtiger is not installed. it then looks for the install package to complete the installation. you may have a problem with your vtiger configuration files (which are created during the installation).

download the vtiger crm 5.1 package and reinstall. but back up your vtiger database first so you can restore it after your reinstall.

I think I got to know the problem.
Actually I did complete re-installation and I was able to login using the default username and passwords.

I need to mention two points: I noticed the problem appeared after doing a synch for the vicidial users and vtiger (by click here) or after changing the passwords in the database.

When I did password changes for the root and the vtiger username to the mysql and I did FLUSH PRIVILEGES, then I am becoming not able to login !! I did this from mysql command line itself. From here we need to start.

This time, I am not able even to login for vicidial admin or vtiger, maybe because I did a change for the root and not for the vtiger (as the previous installation, I changed only the vtiger username).

Well, where is the wrong? Is it wrong to change this from mysql? From where I have to change the password? By the way, when I changed the password for vtiger username, I went for the vicidial admin page and putted the new password for the vtiger and I updated the IP address for the server (it is 192.168.10.10) .. But after I changed the password for the mysql root username, I am not able to login even for the vicidial admin .. and for sure, I am not able to login for vtiger.

For changing the password for mysql username, I used:

UPDATE mysql.user SET Password=PASSWORD('cleartext password') WHERE User='bob' AND Host='%.example.org';
FLUSH PRIVILEGES;

Also, before doing restart, I was stopping mysqld service and then restart the machine. Does this causing any crash? If yes, what is the best practice to restart the machine?

change the passwords back or modify the vtiger configuration file to use the new passwords. this is a vtiger issue, you cannot change the password that it uses to access the database without altering the configuration file that stores the password any more than you can change the ignition out in your wife's without giving your wife the new key ... she's gonna be seriously mad. LOL

I am not able to find a config files for vtiger, where it is?
I found /etc/goautodial.conf and /etc/astguiclient.conf, and I noticed that they are using a database username and password that I did not touch it at all ! So, why when I am changing the password root from the mysql, it is effecting?! I do not see in these two files that they are using the root.

But vtiger, I did not find a conf files for it ...

I was not know there is a config files that requires to update the password for it, I was think that it is only from the goaudotial admin screen.

Because I found /etc/goautodial.conf and /etc/astguiclient.conf and I discover that they are using a users that I never did any change for its password in the database ! But actually I was changing the password for vtiger and the password for root. Why this was effecting to let me login even for vicidial? Is it because of vtiger user?

I am facing now a problem with the phpmyadmin, I am not able to login. All what I did that I changed the collation of the vtigercrm and for vtiger_account table to become UTF8_general_ci, then I restarted the machine. Now I am not able to login for phpmyadmin.
I am able to login through mysql CLI.

What if I changed the database collation? Will I be able to login from phpmyadmin? Now, I changed the IP address of the server, I am able to login using the default username and password, but I am afraid if I changed the collation, I will not be able to login any more ..

OK, always I believe that we have to change the default login and password to avoid hacking.
Another thing, I faced a problem with vtiger related to arabic language and that caused me to check the charset to fix the problem, that is why I was changing.

Meanwhile, I know from where I can change the vtiger login details (the config file), but I need to know for what to use the astguiclient.conf and the goautodial.conf files?
For example, the goautodial.conf file is used to login for the goautodial database? In that case, for what to use the astguiclient.conf?

Appreciate if to know all the config files that are related to the database for the goaudotial solution .. With a fully thanks.

the only challenge is in the cron user for mysql and for the asterisk manager interface. you'll need to find all usages and change them all. there was once a script to modify the cron user's password, but it has not been maintained in some time.

and i think you already answered your own question of "where is the problem" by the fact that this thread exists. you have already found the problems because you've broken things ...

However: After you have found and changed ALL passwords in the system, if you were to post the methods for all of them here, we could probably build a script to make those changes automatically and perhaps this time it will stay maintained. for the next guy in your situation who wants to change all the passwords (which is a good reflex )
