How to upgrade Vicidial 3.1 Database to Vicidial 4.0

Hi Guys,

We are running Vicibox 3.1 version and now we are planning to move on 4.0 version.

Could you please help me megrating my database server and telephony server. I recently installed the new version of vicibox on new server and I found there is new 32 tables has been added so, I stuck on migrating DB from old version to New version. Thanks in Advance.

why do u need to move from 3.1 to 4? if your old server is still working just stick with it. What i suggest is just upgrade to latest SVN trunk from time to time

Vicidial is presently in version 2.6.

ViciBOX (which is the installer, not the program) is 3.1 vs 4.0.

If you are saying you want to move from one installer to the next ... you are saying you want to re-install.

However, if you want to upgrade from an earlier version of Vicidial to the Latest SVN revision level of Vicidial ... the Vicidial Wiki (link above) has a "How To SVN" document which will help you. if you merely want to upgrade your database (to move the DB into the new server you just built) the instructions for SVN upgrade include the method to upgrade the DB. Basically, you drop the DB in the new server, create the DB again (so you now have an empty DB) and restore the DB from the old server into the shell. Then you upgrade it and execute the "ip update script" so it will have the proper IP address. Then a reboot and you're up and running with your old data in your new server with the latest features.

Alternately, you can reinstall the new server with Vicibox 4.0, but tell the installer to use the SVN revision number of your original server. Then you can just transplant the DB from the old to the new without the upgrade requirement (but you lose any new toys that may be available in the newer version!)
