recording issues on vicidial.

i am having recording issues on vicidial. i can't see vicidial recordings in on admin web interface . please have a look to link

when you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method, vicidial version and build, asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box.

Have you read the manual regarding recordings?

There are cron jobs which must be activated (crontab -e). The use of the cron jobs for recordings is noted in each of the files (mix the in/out channels, convert to gsm or other format, copy to final location via ftp or file system or both ...)

1) try manually running the scripts regarding recordings (read them to see how to run them if necessary, there are instructions for use inside and the program that runs them is called perl, so you can type "perl xxxx" to execute them if you like from within the folder they are in)

2) what are your recording settings for the campaign (modify the campaign to check)

3) You didn't answer whether you read the manual regarding recordings ...

4) try vicibox, vicibox redux, or vicidialnow ... scratch installs are a headache

I notice comparing "from scratch install" to "vicibox" extensions.conf
is missing 8309 and 8310 which are standard extensions for recording from what I have read (manager manual).

Has that changed by chance?

Yes, those are generated and in the extensions-vicidial.conf file now, that is covered in the UPGRADE doc.

We are using a canadian provider and therefore need to use this for call display...

I have set recording ext to 8310 for gsm and ALLFORCE
Also using 8369 for vm detection.

Test. Set up a "textbook example" call (with your own cell phone!) and see if it records. Then slowly modify the textbook example to match your actual setup ... and tell us which setting "breaks" it.

Works fine with the loopback interface just so no-one is left hanging here.

Now if I could just find where they ftp-d to I will be happy

look in astguiclient.conf and check your archive server. the directory in question will likely be "relative" to the home directory of the ftp user whose credentials are being used.

2. /var/spool/asterisk/monitorDONE has directory for the different file types like GSM and WAV and has files in them (as i have tried both gsm and wav in camp settings for fun) . When i run the perl script manually it takes a few secounds and no error however i do not see the files.

Archive server has user "admin" that i set up with on install
has directory /home/admin and I added dir RECORDINGS

I can manually ftp to the server.

debug the perl script:

Yep.

Can you create a dir when ftp'd to the server? can you ftp to the server while logged in from the dialer?

Are there recordings which are ready to be moved?

What line did you use to execute the ftp script?

Disable the ftp script in crontab and only run it manually until you get it to work. Execute with --debugX if I recall the superdebug option correctly.

I am not able to see the recorded files from the admin GUI (using goautodial). I placed the files under /var/spool/asterisk/monitorDONE and /var/spool/asterisk/monitorDONE/GSM/ and /var/spool/asterisk/monitorDONE/MP3 also I gave a permission for the directory monitorDONE to be 777.

From the other side, I checked the file /etc/httpd/conf.d/vicidial_recordings.conf and below it is:

The recorded files now in MP3 (actually this happened when I ran the compress script ..) and I copied them as they are to the GSM, and monitorDONE directories just to try if they are going to appear. But they are not appearing on the web interface page (under stats or search for lead).

I think I can resolve it if I can know the following:

1) To to able to see the recorded files, they have to be located on the /var/spool/asterisk/MonitorDONE directory with a full permission for this directory? Or they have to be in another location?

2) Any thing related to database need to be updated so I can see them on the web interface?

If I read the manual, yes I readed it but did not find a solution for my problem that why it is not appearing in the web interface specifically it is existed under the MP3 directory while monitorDONE has a full permission (also the MP3 has a full permission). What could be missing?

Resolved. I am trying to understand what happened and I will post back the reason for resolving the problem.

But, I need the manual outbound calls (when the agent place a calls directly from the handset and not through the dialer) to be recorded calls and to be shown in the agent stats .. HOW? I can add the monitor command to record .. but how the call will be recognized that it is for this agent? Do I need to add anything else other than the monitor command? Should this be via an AGI? Appreciate the help.
