Carrier Comparison Database / Response Codes

Postby bucket » Thu May 09, 2013 12:56 pm

Hey everyone,

I have been switching around between about 3 providers over the past few months. I can't decide who I like better, and really should leave it up to the numbers as to who will be first in the call priority.

I've been digging around in tables to find something with results that would include both the CARRIER, the SIP response code, and the machine detection response -- and even further data but have been unsuccessful so far.

Curious how everyone else is monitoring who has the right coverage, the least congestion, etc. Are there scripts for this ? Reports ? I've taken a look at the asterisk logs in /var/log/asterisk/messages and with multiple people dialing at once the line confusion is too much to sort this out - hoping there is a plugin or I missed a table with the relevant information.

Thanks!

Check the vicidial_carrier_log table.

If you upgrade your Vicidial version to a more recent svn/trunk version and you patch your Asterisk version with the new SIP response code patch then you can log all of the SIP error codes in the database and use the updated hangup cause report to view them and analyze them.
