Carrier with no DID's.

Postby Nefariousparity » Thu May 30, 2013 3:15 am

Hi, so I was thinking, is there a way to use FreePBX so I can use their voip service for DID's, and then have FreePBX foward incoming calls to inbound group on ViciDial?

I had this setup working with out issue before, but my old carrier offered DID's. So it was just a matter of forwarding calls from one DID to another.

However currently, my carrier does not offer DID's. So is there a way to make FreePBX communicate with GoAutoDial 3.0 RC1.

1) Goautodial is an installer. The software is "VICIdial".

2) If you set up trunking between the two you can have them call each other on any DID you like. Set up Vicidial as a trunk in FreePBX and set up FreePBX as a Carrier in Vicidial.

Neither one of them knows (or cares) that the machine in question is just another asterisk server. In fact, most of the carriers you send calls to are also running an asterisk server. So there is really no difference between setting up this and what you already do for carriers except you can see (and troubleshoot) both ends of the call. Which should actually make it easier. It's only complex in your head. LOL
